MEDICAL INSURANCE AND A SECURITY BOND ARE REQUIRED
Medical Insurance:
As per the Ministry of Manpower, domestic helpers in Singapore are required to carry an insurance policy with a minimum of $15,000 in coverage. It covers sudden, unforeseen, and unexpected incidents resulting in permanent disability or death.
Security Deposit:
Employers of migrant domestic workers in Singapore must have a $5,000 security bond (MDWs). This bond serves as a promise that you won’t violate any rules governing her employment. Plus, it protects the welfare of the maids by ensuring prompt payment of salary and timely repatriation.
Personal Injury Protection:
Your maid must be covered by personal accident insurance with a minimum of $40,000 in coverage, and any payouts must be made payable to her or her beneficiaries.
